Gardening With a Purpose

A sweet friend of ours, Cade, developed a brain tumor and suffered a major stroke at the age of four. His family committed themselves to a healthy and clean diet to support his healing process but found that he refused to eat his greens. At that time we had a bumper crop of lettuce growing and invited Cade to our home to harvest his own lettuce. When they got home, Cade's parents excitedly called us to inform us that he had eaten his greens for the first time because it was 'his' lettuce.

It was in that moment that we realized we had to share the mission of 'gardening with a purpose' with others. We felt such happiness in sharing our harvest with our sweet friend that we desired for other gardeners to experience that same joy. To garden with an intent to share the harvest brings people and community together.
